Taste of Tacoma is a three day event usually held in June each year at Point Defiance Park. It's got live music, activities, vendors, and of course food. You can also enjoy beer gardens and wine tastings. By no means did we even scratch the surface of the food options but here were some of our favorites.
  • A Review of Pretty Gritty Tours: Stadium High

Walking around Tacoma you'll spot this gorgeous old castle-esque building and wonder what it is. Though it wasn't mean to be, it is actually a public high school! Stadium High School is most recognized by its role in the 1999 hit movie "10 Things I Hate About You" with Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger. We got to go inside the school and explore the attics, basement, and hear the history. Here's what we thought about our Stadium High Tour with Pretty Gritty Tours!
  • The Best Date Night Restaurants in Tacoma

Of course we all love our kiddos, but sometimes it's nice to have a dinner without tantrums, food persuasion, and listening to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse playing on your phone. So here's some restaurants I recommend for date nights in the area (in no particular order)!
  • Museums on Joint Base Lewis-McChord

I was pleasantly surprised with this museum. I was expecting something small with mediocre displays but they have actually put a lot of thought, effort, and money into this museum.
  • A Day in Puyallup

Puyallup is a bigger area than I expected it to be. It's got everything you need but still has a small town feel. There is a ton to do in Puyallup so no wonder they put the fairgrounds here. I really enjoy spending the day downtown with all the quaint shops and restaurants
  • Inside Tacoma - Old Town

"Old Town" Tacoma is actually where the town started. This area is small but fiercely beautiful. It's on the outskirts of the hustle and bustle of downtown. Here you'll find old houses full of charm and a view of the Puget sound for miles.
  • Inside Tacoma - Museum District

The Museum district of Tacoma is primarily located on Pacific Avenue. There are quite a few museums to choose from and plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and stores to browse. Conveniently located next to public transportation and lots of parking lots, this is a happening area. There are lots of students around since the campus is also located here.
  • Farmer's Markets around Joint Base Lewis - McChord

It's unbelievable how many Farmers Markets there are in our area. We are so spoiled to have such good options for fresh produce! We have quite a few to choose from so I'm going to give you the down low on each of them.
  • Exploring Antique Row in Tacoma

You can find tons of Antique and vintage shops around the area. If you want to hit a ton of shops without having to find another parking space then Antique Row is where you need to go. Antique Row is located on Broadway Street in downtown Tacoma. It's on the other side of the street from the theaters and where the Farmers Market is held.
